A friend of mine tweeted one morning, ‘My biggest prayer today is that I may not be misunderstood.‘ These few words carry so much weight and food for thought. She got me thinking about the hundreds of times I have had to back up a simple phrase or sentence with an explanation.

This is already a problem when you take into account a persons background or other factors that contribute to an otherwise awkward scenario. However, as one of my good friends puts it, ‘sounds like a personal problem to me!!‘. She is right. You can’t please everybody, you can’t take every reaction to heart.

This brings on a couple of questions; Have you experienced true freedom? Is it possible for you to be your own person in a society that is so dependent on what other people think?Do you dress or look or act the way you do because of the people around you? Here’s a scenario. You have the chance to start afresh in a new city. You have a new job and you are at liberty to forge a brand new identity for yourself. Are you that person now? What is stopping you? Can you get over it? Can you start now?

Sometimes youth get carried away by the idea of who they should be not realising that in all true honesty, who they really are is probably better than who they are trying to be. Youth today need to realise that they NEED to be the best version of themselves.

Yes, as we grow we tend to pick up different habits and ways of life-there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Take what you need or want and fit it into your life or personality as you go along. You are allowed to make changes but make sure they are good changes. It is part of growing up.

As you are on the path to self-realization, you will develop a stronger sense of security and you will realise you know what you want in your job, your relationships and in your life. People will look at you differently and if they are the people you need in your life, they will acknowledge it.

This is something that can only be achieved when one is ready to embrace themselves for what or who they truly are and you can only do this by spending quality time reflecting on self.

Make a change for the better today. This is the secret to true personal freedom and happiness and FEAR LESS, LOVE MORE!!
